His foremost ability is to ionize matter and use its heated plasma state to form something akin to solar blasts and he can absorb solar and electromagnetic energy to recharge or enhance his powers. His eyes can view everything in an infrared vision and he can heat up air currents to boost him into flight. A psionic shield surrounds him whenever he uses his powers to protect him from his own radiation, air friction and some physical impact.

While in the earlier months, his eyesight has been having some problems with viewing everything in their mundane colors, Kevin Ford's life would only start after he had an argument with his father regarding a woman he liked in his high school. Having lost his patience with the man, Kevin ran away from his home and stowed away into a junk yard where his powers sparked at the sight of the guard dog. With a wave of his hand, he burned the poor thing to its death and the hysteria of having done that, plus the fact that the yard owners had seen him doing it and were closing into him, had let out a massive flare from his body that set the entire lot on maddening fire. The owners instantly died with his fire but Kevin was left unscathed. Still, as the yard burned and the smoke suffocated him, he soon lost consciousness and fell to the dirt.

But when he thought he was dead, waking up the very next morning proved him wrong. Kevin would find himself in a hospital room though nothing could be found attached to him. Examinations showed that he was in top shape condition and that all that was there to worry about was probably the trauma of the fire. He was sent home the next day and even when his father tried to talk to him, he could not respond to the man. The events of the fire still reflected very vividly in his mind and he preferred to shut himself inside his room and work on his hobby of drawing just to drown out the thoughts. Three days later, the police came to his doorstep and despite his refusal, his father urged him to come with them as he was confident that the boy had not done anything wrong.

And his father was right to be confident. Kevin was questioned about the events but the authorities could not find any suitable evidence to link him to the crime of arson. So he was dismissed and sent back home where he struggled to live a normal life. Throughout his high school life and even while he was already being enrolled into one of the community colleges in Georgia, Kevin found it difficult to socialize with people due to the idea that he could be one of those mutants that society had so disliked and that knowledge did nothing but draw himself into seclusion -- away from his family and friends who wanted so much to help him; he did all he could to be as 'human' as possible and to keep him out of the Friends of Humanity's eyes. Eventually, he moved to Arkansas and lived with one of his relatives to enter university.

In the end of the last term of his first year in university, Kevin would find himself caught up in some terroristic attack and his hysteria would burn the air beneath his soles and send himself to flight as chaos occurred beneath him. When realization struck, he grew frantic about the idea of being afloat and he could not move from his position to land or to fly away. Matters only turned worse when he found that it was a group of mutants leading the attack but when he was about to hide, they'd found him. So instantly had he been placed in the hotspot that Kevin would surround himself with flame and prepare to burn the other mutants with only his instincts and memory to guide him. Still, no violence sparked between he and the Brotherhood and instead, with some exchange of words and as he was lost, afraid, and curious all the same, Kevin followed them to their base.

If the X-Men had arrived any earlier, he would not have fallen to their hands.

With The Brotherhood of Mutants, he felt accepted and at ease once again in what seemed like forever. He was treated as though he was never different but the environment had constantly reminded him of how he was special and above the many humans he had drawn away from; and so easily did he feel that way. Kevin soon learned how to control his powers and the longer he stayed with the Brotherhood, the more he came to believe their cause and the firmer his feet were planted into Erik's soil. He managed to convince his relatives that he was staying in a friend's house throughout his life as a university student and with their help, plus a little from the money he makes as a part-timer in some apparel store, Kevin managed to graduate with a degree in industrial designs.

Now, Kevin is a product designer in a medium-scaled company and freelances as an industrial designer (which makes him own one of the messiest rooms in the Brotherhood but he likes the clatter, it helps him think). He also helps in paying the bills of the Brotherhood and joins them in their little field trips.

Though still generally withdrawn and silent, Kevin is known to be quite helpful to his brothers. His principles are madly attached to his affiliation, as well, and he is diligent on delivering their duties and word. He enjoys a little quiet time to himself but in the call of anger or any violent emotions, he is sure to literally explode either out of the room or with flames.

Kevin is a man of his word and if he has to go out of his way just to do something he wants, has promised or has been entrusted to do, he will do that without a second thought. His allies are very important to him and he puts the welfare of those he loves before his own. In this regard, self-sacrifice is not a difficult thing for him and he makes time and space for others when they need them. Gratitude is a very important thing to him and must be repaid equally -- no exceptions. Kevin is also an excellent cook.

His close-mindedness to anything outside the ideas of the Brotherhood has given him a very narrow insight of things. To him, the Brotherhood is the word and the law and anything that goes against it must be dealt with accordingly. His lack of regard to himself might also very well lead to his death and he does not understand how people might not want that to happen if it's for their own sakes, anyway. In some occassions, he shuts himself out from everyone though this happens very rarely. Kevin also has two left feet.

Definitive eyes, an almost-pale skin, his hair is slightly curled with a nice shade of brown to it. Kevin stands in an above average height and has a slightly muscular figure to him. He likes dark clothes but fancies anything that promotes free movement. Kevin also likes Adidas.
